About the process
Overview of the three stages to reduce emissions
Prepare
Review the list of emission reduction activities in the Pathfinder.
If these activities are relevant and viable for your business, develop a GHG Baseline and Farm Emissions Reduction Plan (FERP).
Actions:
- Review farm emissions reduction activities
- Develop a GHG Baseline
- Prepare a FERP
Consider
Consider any relevant compliance, legislation or unintended consequences that may impact the implementation of your FERP.Â
You may also consider your financing requirements in relation to carrying out your FERP and any emissions reduction activities. If debt financing is required, you can consider if you are eligible for a discounted finance program under the CEFC Towards Net Zero Agriculture Strategy. The activities outlined in the Pathfinder are consistent with these programs.Â
Actions:Â
- Consider compliance, legislation or unintended consequences
- Discuss financing requirements with your financial adviser or bank
Implement
Implement farm emissions reduction activities and track outcomes. Regularly measure and record the results of your emissions reduction efforts to not only track execution of the FERP but also to reflect on your farm's performance and identify areas for further improvement.
Actions:
- Implement and Monitor
- Retain evidence of FERP implementation
- Review CEFC Measuring What Matters report for reporting criteria
